Gresham Firefighters for the Cure

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we at the Gresham Fire family are committed to raising awareness and money to help beat this cancer.

Breast Cancer is:

· The most common cancer in women, no matter your race or ethnicity.
· The most common cause of death from cancer among Hispanic women.
· The second most common cause of death from cancer among Caucasian, African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native women.
· In 2006: 191,410 women were diagnosed with Breast Cancer and 40,820 women died from Breast Cancer.

Gresham Fire for the month of October will wear a special Firefighter duty t-shirt, which will also be available to buy. These shirts will have a pink ribbon on the front left chest under our Maltese Cross and a pink ribbon that will replace the “I” in Fire on the back (as shown in the attachment).
The Fire Department is highly visible and has a strong voice based on our history and traditions of saving lives and selfless service to our communities. We want to lend our voice to Breast Cancer Awareness and we need your help, through donations and/or the purchasing of a shirt to wear along side us for the month of October.
Please donate and join forces with Gresham Fire to put out Breast Cancer once and for all. The Cost of the shirts will be 1 for $14 or 3 for $30 and all profits will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
