Alan makes this breakfast every day. Not only does it fuel him up before his daily 3 mile swim, it keeps his cholesterol down and his whole body healthy!
Combine oats, water, and ground flax in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir to combine.
Microwave on high for 2½ minutes. Let stand in microwave 1 minute. Stir.
Add sliced banana and enjoy. Optional, add a drizzle of pure maple syrup, chopped nuts, plant-based milk, and cinnamon to taste.
Notes
To make on the stovetop:Boil the water in a small saucepan. Stir in oats and flax seed. Cook about 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.Serve as directed.
